June 29, 1943 Dear Folks & Rose, I see I have a little time before lights go out so I'll try to get a few lines written. Things have been very, very dull around here for a few days. We just keep working along with the machine gun. I suppose you get tired of my writing about it but thats all I can write because that's all we do. I did get up at 4:00 this morning and wait tables. My squad was the unfortunate one. At least we won't have it again for awhile. How I love to get up early. Like heck!
