July 25, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, Well honey, I'm keeping my promise of last night. There really was no need to promise for I would have written anyway. I guess my theme song should be "No Letter Today." Thats right honey, no letter again today. One good thing is that there is always a tomorrow. In fact, I didn't get any mail today, but neither did anyone else. I guess we had better try our mail by carrier pidgeon. I believe it would get back and forth faster. I was on guard last night from eight o'clock until twelve. When I came in and got ready for bed I couldn't resist lying here looking at the moon. It was beautiful. There were just
