Oct 22, 1944 Surprise: Well, here is that man again. I hope you still remember me after not hearing from me for so long. Be that as it may, I'm back into camp and am I glad. You know I didn't like it too well the last two weeks. Want to hear a little about it? Try and stop me. I'll just point out a few funny, but maddening points for I'm sure you aren't interested in the type of problems we ran. First of all try and picture me getting ready for bed at night. There I am digging a fox-hole then throwing in grass to help keep me warm. It was cold out there. Anyway I'd wrap up in a blanket and crawl into bed for a couple hours sleep. The worst night was when it rained and all we could do is sit down in that hole and get wet.
