Innsbruck, Tirol Austria 14. 1. 1947. Dear Carrol! At first you have to excuse my bad written English, but in the last time I never have had occasion, to speak this language. In my native country Austria, there is a no-written law, that allways this one has to write at first, who is leaving first. And so I was waiting the whole time for one of your letters, but it did not come! And because I am thinking now, that you have forgotten your old ski instructor Herwig, I want to tell you today, that I am still alife and that I wish you a very, very happy New Year.
