October 15, 1945 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Just got off duty few minutes ago. My first tho't is always that I want to write to you honey and then I go sleep & dream about you. I never have much to say as far as news is concerned but I always want to write & tell you how very much I love you & want you. You are all that counts as far as I'm concerned darling. I love you so very very much. But to go on with the news honey -- there isn't much. I'm back on 3-11 now. I didn't get up till 11:30 & went to dinner at 12:00. Then I wrote
