December 11, 1945 Dear Vera & Steamer, Hi! I've been here for 2 days now & really doesn't seem as though I've been gone for very long. I'm living at the Cottage just next door to French Hall. Is really nice. Are 12 girls living here & we really have quite a time. It has been so awful cold the last couple of days. We had a fire in the fire place but didn't seem to help at all. We went to Wash. Sat nite & Dad came home [with] us. He seems to like it very much & says they've been awfully busy. He has a room now at Frank Miller's home & it's much better than the hotel. Sure hope they can get a house before long. I took a bus from Wash. back here. There was the best news in the Society Section of the Sun. paper, wasn't there? I know Carroll will think so too. My last letter from him was dated Nov 20. Was pretty good except for his back. Everyday I keep wishing the next 3-4 months were
