No wonder everybody is so happy around here. I've gotten 3 letters from Carroll since i've been back. Last one was dated Dec 10th. Hope you have heard. He is playing basketball Steamer. Only 12 players out. Says he expects to be [with] another division about the first of the year cuz 31st is coming home. Maybe he'll be lucky one of these trips. I hope so. Heard from Rose. She's fine. Back on nite duty and more gruesome tales. Just can't imagine such things. Are Margaret & Karen still there? I hope so. I'm coming home Fri P.M. I'm off till 11:00 Mon. nite. I'm starting nite duty then. Don't know how it happens I have so much time off but I won't argue about it. Very happy [with] the setup. Saw the "Bells of St Mary's last nite.
