March 2, 1946 Dear Vera, Steamer, Meg & Karen, Hi! Do you really think maybe he's on his way home? You bet I do have my fingers crossed along [with] you. I've been so excited since, they can hardly live [with] me here. I've gotten everyone around here excited too. When I came back from home last time I had 2 letters here but I didn't hear again until the 27th. I got a letter dated Feb 13th. He was still at this rest area & expected to leave for Vienna in day or so. He said he supposed it would be 2 mos. before he'd be home. But I haven't heard a word since he returned to Vienna so maybe he is. The suspense is killing me. Steamer said once
