Sat. Nov. 28, 1942 8:45 P.M. My dearest Mom, Here's 2 [cents] right back at you. I . can afford it now with a sawbuck in my pocket. I did lose $4.00 playing poker, so now I'm absolutely off gambling while I'm in the army, or at least until I can afford to lose without yelling home for money. Now as far as those pictures were concerned, they were a dime apiece and I thought at that price, five would be enough. I'm sorry now, I didn't buy more, because I wont be able to buy anymore of those particular pictures. They were taken at Fort Custer. No cameras allowed inside the camp here. Now, for Purcell. I know he's here in Fort Benning, but where, I don't know. By this time you will have received that letter of mine with a few statistics, so you'll know what a big place this is to try and find somebody.
