Saving...
2 It's a play, just like a football team would have, figured out ahead of time, and fitting a specific situation. We diagram it in detail and learn it perfectly. Then we go into the "field" and work it out in actuality. We'll be doing that from now on. Our classwork is about finished. The "Sop" which we have been working on and studying for the last 2 days, is called "Sop #5, or, "The Organization of a town." Perhaps you'd like me to copy from my notes. We actually lay out the plan of a town to start with. I don't know if I should tell you this or not, but our outfit is considered more, dangerous (That is, the work we have to do), than any other outfit in the Regiment. This is the "Sop." 1. Is the town strongly defended? If so encircle it and wait for re-inforcements. 2. If the town is nearly defenseless, organize it by an [I.?] and R. echelon. (a) Towns contain supplies which are useful to us. (b) The organization must be conducted in blitz fashion, and move out quickly. (c) Seldom if ever do we organize towns of more than 15,000 population.
