5 Rations are figured in battalion units.--100 feet of grocery store shelf space will feed one battalion for one day. So, roughly, if 50,000 gallons of gas were found in the town and a lot of grocery stores had full shelves, and the R.R. patrol found a warehouse full of usable goods, the town would be considered worth saving. Of course, the bank is broken into, the vault blown open, and all money is taken. We are also told that no matter who crosses our path with evil intent, whether it be man, woman, or child---to shoot them ruthlessly and with no compunction. The whole town should be organized in an hour or less. Speed is essential. If the enemy moves up in force before our forces get there, we are to completely destroy and blow up, every building and bridge in the town. Then beat it out of there as fast as our motorized equipment will take us. We only pick on towns that are undefended. Dirty, eh?? This is the plan of procedure for organizing a town. What do you think of it? Our instructor, a captain, is very brilliant, and he says,--"Don't ever forget that we're playing for keeps, not for fun.
