January 30, 1943 January 31, 1943 Dear Mom, Received the box of cookies and clippings O.K. Also a letter from you to-day. Very glad to hear from home as always. I managed to get the sum total of two cookies out of the box. I was robbed of the rest of them. These boys are just like wolves when it comes to home cooking. But it evens up in the end, because I get a lot of "goodies" from the boxes the other fellows receive. They were awfully good, and all other contributions will be gratefully received. Dear Mom---Got this far with the letter and was called out on a problem from which we just returned. Started writing this letter yesterday at 1:00 P.M. and it is now 10:00 P.M. Sunday night. Boy am I tired, so I guess this is going to be shorter than I figured on. Was going to write
