Saving...
the past 2 weeks. Wish it were not so. But it is. We're not supposed to have identification of any kind, with us. Such as letters, or even letter writing material. But I'm going to take the material with me anyway. Just in case. Was very glad to hear a little news of the Wolfes'. Bet you were glad to see Charles and talk with him. Hope you can make it, up to stay with them for a while. I know you'll all enjoy yourselves. Talking over old times. What a gab-fest. Still have a letter to write to Sally, so I'd better sign off. Don't be angry if I don't write to you in the weeks to come. If I get a chance to write, it will probably be to Sally. You can get news of my movements from her. So long now, Mom, and take care of yourself. All the love in the world, your ever-loving son, Jack [X's surrounding signature; row of X's below]
