I know how a series of delays like that, will get on a person's nerves. Hope she enjoys herself on her vacation. She surely deserves it. These Tennessee maneuvers are really tough. Nobody exaggerated about that. I'm filthy dirty all the time, and seldom if ever get any sleep. We're on the move all the time. Battling by day, and moving secretly from one concealed bivouac area to another by night. It's a good thing you can't see your son now. He looks old enough to be your grandfather.
