Tennessee Maneuvers "Somewhere in Tennessee" August 17, 1943 1340 Dearest Mom, Received your card from Milford and your swell letter a few days ago Was so glad to get it and hear all the news as usual. Makes me feel a lot better to know what's going on at home even if the news isn't so good sometimes. Enjoy the clippings you always send me Especially the "Newsette" for servicemen. It's so compact and yet it carries so much news Was surprised to find clippings in Sally's letter about the air raid She so seldom puts any in Meant to tell her how pleased I was and then finished her letter up before I remembered Perhaps you'll tell her how I appreciated it. It's a sleepy drowsy day in Tennessee today. The hot sun is playing hide and seek with the clouds but there is a breeze so its' not too uncomfortable I like Tennessee so much better than Georgia but it looks like we're going right back down there after this is all over At first we thought we were going to Camp Campbell Kentucky But now it looks as if its to be Camp Gordon Georgia I
