When The Martians Came When they awoke next morning As Phoebus[[?]] 'gan to rise, They found a mob of thousands Before their very eyes. Their holsetered guns they loosened And hummed[[?]] a battle song, And with pal[[?]] in friendship lifted, They stepped among the throng. At last the noisy tuwalt[[?]] And shouting died away, All Ears were bent to listen, And silence held its sway.
