APRIL 2 1942 Wrote Pauline. Finished ironing, repaired piano bench + cleaned up its contents. Frank + I moved school chairs, I returned Gruber's + turned in $13.48 to R. Cross. Birthday party for Mrs. Maulbetsch. 8 there. Score 2 ovv. Typed a lot of WSCS letters. Miss Zillier went home. 1943. Went in from 7:30-10:30 for G.B - X ray at hospital. Killed 2-1/2 hrs. getting Frank's sugar permit for bees. Began reading "Frontier by Air" - about Brazil. 1944. Nice AM. Just sat around + wrote letters. Dinner at HOTOY. Called on Paul Hanson's, 205 Rock Creek Church Road. We heard Bishop of Iceland at L. Church of Ref. at 4. To Folger's Shak. lib. Rainy - new hat - no parasol along. 1945. K + I washed, also worked in garden + put in last peas, beets. Lettuce up. Heard Robert Stoermose MP at Pierce Hall talk to Danish Club 83° 1946 Worst wakeful spell yet - 1:30 to 6! Up at 7:30, washed and hung out, inc. 4 rugs. Wrote dansk letter to Flo in wee sma' hours. Walked to Mrs. Barr's for Circle "C" mtg. 11 there! I helped serve ice cream and coffee. Mrs. B gave me farewell gift of box of "Notes". Rode in to Alex with the Ryder's to get my car. Mrs. Norberg here in eve.
