April 9 1942. Did 2 washings- with 2 blankets, 3 pr. curtains, 3 rugs, etc. Windy. Baked bread + rolls, Cleaned entry. Ironed a little. Went in to Middleton for Frank to get his driver's license. Had awful time to set date for Nutrition Mtg. 1943. Cloudy- nice day for my washing. Ironed + cleaned some, baked bread + cake. Read "Alaskans All" by Banett Willoughby. 1944. Lovely Easter day. Drove to Alex., but P.O. closed. Got Alex. paper with church directory. Studied dansk, wrote Frank. Hilda came out with Geo. Robinson. She brot me Easter lily. Made biscuits + cocoa for supper for 4- buffet style. Hans +I walked to Natl airport. 49° 74° 1945/ Read, cut out + began blouse for Hilda. K. had to work today. She + I set out 6 tomato plants in eve then walked to Baptist church + back to hear BIshop Hughes again. 1946. Had fine sleep at Randall's. After warm bath +breakfast, Marian + her mother + I took 27 mile drive back in the Mts. Enjoyed more redbud + dogwoods. Took picture of Capitol, gingko tree. Wrote letters. Bought washcloths! All the Randalls enjoyed Hans' German scrapbook + book from Eng. + our "states" book.
