June 21 1942 Wayne Weidemann preached at church on "Judge Not that Ye Be Not Judged." He + Doris + her parents, Priscilla + Bruce here for dinner. Frank + K worked at Sak's from 3 o'clock on- I pasted. Wrote 7 circle. 1943 Frank stayed home to work with bees. I wheelhoed lima beans, etc. 100°. Put on basement screens + on west side of front room, washing windows. Made up berry boxes. K teaching in Bible school. 1944. Baked bread + choc. chip cookies. Sent box of them to Frank. Drove to Wash., called on Vic Allen at the York; Hans + I had picnic supper then dansk lesson, then to Danish Club to hear Skardas. 1945. Baked cookies. Corn growing weather finally came to Iowa. Dora + I sit in her back lawn. Betty Wright of Stuart, Owen's b.g., here from 3-6. After supper we called on Allan's, took her to bus, called on Martha + Irene. Jay + Edith here a while. 1946. Awake from 2 till after 5- too many plums! Went in at 8:30 with Millie, Gene, Verna, and the 3 Robinson kids. Stood in line an lu. at Ward's, got pr. rayon hose in the jam- but no sheets for Gene. Helped make jersey skirt for Verna. She went back to Crockett in eve.
