Saving...
April 17 1917. Warm, around 80°. We quilted, until it got too hot. I washed outside windows, and raked two hours in the southeast yard, finishing that job. 1918. Got to bed at 1:00 A.M. and up at 10:00. Tired. We transplanted 9 big tomato plants and a row of potatoes to garden, under glass-sided forcing boxes. Showers and little hail. Letter from mamma. Rev. Wilcox called. After supper, went to Jim Olson's, where Mrs. O. gave us rhubarb. 30 at Spirit Mound school at meeting. 1919. Baby slept just fine, only waking at 4:00 to be fed. Fine sunny day. I did the mending, helped Amanda cut out her voile dress. Got baby book from Hazel Scott, and card from Reno. Fine sunny day. I was outside a while. Feeling fine. Mrs. Dunlap brought me dish of home made ice cream. 1920. Very busy. I baked bread, oatmeal cookies, 2 mock mince pies, cleaned my bedroom, washed woolens for Hilda, did some mending for the boys, took bath. The "whole family" - Adela, Jim, Ferd, and we all went to Maquoketa in evening. Shopped. 1921. Bright sun melted lots of snow but roads were drifted too much to go for Laura Bolt, as planned. I read in "Roses and Sunshine" by Bertha M. Clay. Signe very good. Finished writing circle letter I've delayed so long. [illegible]
