May 27 1917. Had sick headache in morning, so stayed home all day. Wrote letters including circle letter. 1918. Got Bagley H.S. commencement invitation from Constance and Adaline. Wrote to Herman and card to George. Crocheted nearly 6 daisies; shortened four petticoats. Rainy. "Helped" Hans complete plans for our house-to-be- perhaps only castle-in-the-air. 1919. I mixed three "Lady Baltimore" cakes, went to Maquoketa with Hans and shopped for the folks again. Olga and Orville Ruggeburg were married in M- at 2:00 P.M. Helena went with them. Hilda's great grandmother came for the day Hans and I looked at Whitney Farm to rent. Helped prepare a 3 course wedding supper for 25 or so. 1920. Washed screens + put them on, baked pies, mended, made myself blue gingham skirt, and transplanted the last strawberry plants for this spring- more than 150 in all. 1921. Took off 19 chicks from 2 hens, poorest hatch yet. Signe slept from 9-5, best yet. Hans' mother + father came and dinner time, to go with us a picnic near Olga's. They went, but nothing doing except rain. Glad I didn't go. Got Hillside circle letter.
