Saving...
JUNE 11 1917. Wash day, but it rained - finally. I walked to Ole Iverson's with Hans to see about getting a cow. "Helped" repair pasture fence till it started another shower. We started to set up typewriter table. Our first caller - "Speedy". Bed early as usual. 1918. We worked 1 1/2 hours in garden. I replanting onions. I washed, getting done before 11:00 A.M. Think I'll wash every week this hot weather. Hans is gone all day in Country again. Miss Henrietta Dodge, home demonstration agent for four counties, came. I helped her begin making arrangements for a community canning kitchen. She was here for supper. 1919. Letter from Herman and a Quill circle letter waiting for me. Wrote card home and letter to Flo. Did some baby washing and cleaned up house, scrubbed front porch, etc. Rees' gone for summer. Had peas for dinner, Pak Choi, lettuce, radishes. 1920. Constance and I picked strawberries and I canned 6 qt. Glen and I hoed early potatoes after dinner, then I took drink to men. Tired - and cross. 1921. Boiling hot again. Signe bad in A.M. We did well to get dinner. Baked bread. Lottie Hunter, home for the summer, here twice.
