Saving...
JULY 16 1917. Canned a quart of strawberries. Took Han's lunch to woods. From there I went to Carlson's, giving them lettuce and getting eggs. Picked about two quarts of strawberries in evening after we rambled around thru woods hunting new patches, 1918. Washed. Baked mock mince pie, cleaned my cupboards and stored away our M.W. things, then helped Hans put rear shock-absorbers on Ford - big improvement. 1919. Hans got home in late P.M. I did a huge washing. Washed my hair. 1920. Hans and Jim gone again all day harvesting oats at the folk's. Had sick headache, from varnishing yesterday, and from losing so much sleep when rat bit Hilda's finger. Worked in garden a while in morning, clearing out early peas and weeds. 1921. Threshing begins in this neighborhood. Washed two washerfuls, baked bread. Minnie picked and canned berries. We went to town in eve. Got medicine for the girlies. Dr. Johnson says Signe's rupture is healing nicely.
