Saving...
July 21 1917. Finished hoeing beets, three rows, and put dust mulch over watered ground. Everything is so dry. Scrubbed house, baked oatmeal cookies. Crocheted on bed spread edge in swing. Wrote more "thank-you" letters. We watered potatoes. 1918. We all went to federated church service in Congregational church. Rev. Gognier preaching. Visited, then we took a 30 mile ride north of town. Stopped at Dension's a minute. Rained when we got back. Bryant's called while we were gone. Got letter from Georgia Springer. 1919. Wrote to Adela. Cut out green figured voile dress and seamed it up. Over to big garden in evening with Hans. Beans, etc. growing fine. 1920. Adela, Constance, and I each took a turn ironing. Very hot. Finished my blue dress, and cut out blue plaid gingham peasant blouse. Did the mending.
