Saving...
JULY 31 1917. A good shower in early morning - first for two wks. More straightening up stunts - pantry and Hans' trunk. Made curtains for two windows. Dorothea sent me blue and white Japanese lunch cloth, also holders. Hans walked to farm and found garden dryer than ours in town. 1918. Ironed, steamed brown bread, did some mending. Painter repainted front porch floor. I shortened white lawn dress. Dr. Dinwoodie of Brookings here for supper. Hans and I attended Dalesburg social at Silkenson's in evening. He had Community Farm Bureau meeting there. 1919. Canned another 8 qts. corn, Hans helping some at noon. Showers, laying the awful dust. Wrote "thank-you" letter to Emma Reno. We spent evening at Chesty's, his sister Magdalena just coming from Hudson on evening train. 1920. Made 2 qt. "yum-yum" pickles, re-dyed blue old gingham dress. Completed Hilda's blue quilt, binding edges and sewing tapes to tie it to bed. 1921.
