August 27 1917. I made brown denim cushions for Morrischair seat for the upstairs room. We had our first sweet corn to eat. Started crocheting edge on white linen centerpiece for Artie Gates. 1918. Did a fair sized washing by 12:20. Mended, read, etc. Not feeling good. Mrs. Lawson called. Very dusty, & windy. I walked down for mail in evening. Hans gone most of day, & till midnight, in Bethel. Last meeting. 1919. Letters from mamma & papa, & Hazel Scott. Amanda & I ironed, my share being a 10 ft. square movie screen with took 1 1/4 hrs. Cut out blue gingham dress for Amanda. In A.M. we canned 15 qts. Transcendent crabs, & 2 qt. apple sauce. At high school with canning team in eve. 1920. Sheriff's deputy served notice. I canned 4 qt. green Gage plums & 1 oz tomato, did a Lux washing and a lot of mending. Card from Cousin Emma. 1921. Baked bread. Pumpkin pies (fresh). Finished brown checked gingham dress for Minnie.
