September 28 1917. Hans and I had another tussle with the furniture-putting new castors in dining table, laying stove linoleum, etc. We harvested onions, salsify, celery, parsnips, and rest of carrots in school garden. I judged school exhibits and he the horses at the Fair. Hans got Holstein cow, Daisy. 1918. Had Loretta and "Mac" to breakfast again. Baked beans, finished middy, went to town, ironed, etc. Letter from Sis, cards from Helena and Anna's mother. Weather couldn't be nicer. Washed Hans' sweater and a few other pieces. Packed. Hans arrived home 11:30 P.M. 1919. A gray Sunday. Baked pumpkin pie and meatloaf and got dinner all ready for August and Beth Huetson-who failed to come. Read, wrote to Helen and mamma. We all went to see Keith in hospital in evening. Rainy in evening. 1920. Canned 6 qt. peaches, and the last 2 qt. of Winesaps of the bushel Otto Weideman gave us. Baked bread and oatmeal cookies. Cut out striped outing flannel nightie for Hilda. Glen and I did chores again. Letter from mama. They move to Davenport Oct. 19
