Saving...
October 12 1917. I made a glass of grape jelly, canned a quart of juice for more later, made about a pint of jam, a cup of apple jelly, baked bread, and cleaned up the house; also did the week's mending. A clear, bright, mild, day for once. Went to 1st. no of lyceum course - Flora Prentiss Co. 1918. Very warm and sunny. I ironed a while, wrote to Aunt Minnie, did mending. August came in forenoon, not feeling very well. Went down town a little while in P.M. Helped dig potatoes in evening. "Mac" went home as schools, etc. are closed because of influenza. 1919. Didn't wake till 10:20! Roasted chicken for dinner. At office with Hans and Hilda an hour in P.M. Mrs. Nelson, Myrtle, Alma, and Belva called. Miss Helen Horsfall (H. Ec. teacher in high school, and I.S.C, '17) here for supper. 1920. Hilda sat in her buggy contentedly most of the time while I did a ten days' washing. Did a little mending. Card from Lottie Hunter, teaching at Deloit. A little rain last night, to break a quite long dry spell. 1921. Went to Guild at Moorhead's in P.M. Amanda took girlies home with her and kept them there. Mrs. Lafe and Mrs. John Scott went with me. Annual election of officers. I ran for two, but wasn't elected, for which I'm not sorry.
