Saving...
October 16 1917. Washed two quilt ends, and made protector for the blue-and-white swastika one. Finished lining and mending Hans' coat. Baked rye bread. Wrote to Martha Forman in Ames hospital. Crocheted on baby bonnet. 1918. Mended hose from last weeks' washing, made the comfort kit I started at Rees'. I took it to Mrs. Millers for a little advice on it. Hans was gone most of the day. We spent evening at "Chesty" Miller's. 1919. Sunny in P.M., first this week. Made most of baby dress. Hilda "talks" a great deal, using syllables, mostly da-da, ba-be. 1920. Hilda was tickled to spend the afternoon outdoors again-without wraps, even. I baked pumpkin pies, mopped, fixed 15 new hen nests (burned old ones), and put fastens on Hilda's dress. We milked in new cow barn in evening. 1921. Didn't help milk this morning, but mopped two floors instead. Olga and Orville, and Hans' folks all here for dinner. They brought me two birthday aluminum bread pans. Hans' mother sent a dressed goose to roast. Church in evening, new preacher, Rev. Smith.
