Saving...
November 6 1917. Cooked meat for canning and mincemeat, as weather continues warm. Roads drying. I went to town without rubbers. Baked a good batch of bread. 1918. I baked bread-sponge cake, steamed brown bread, and canned 1 qt. rhubarb-citron-lemon conserve. Crocheted an hour with Mrs. Lees. Letter from mamma- they are sending us bbl. of Jonathans. Chas. had "flu". I worked on kimono and doily and cut out little long cloth dress. Hans came home with symptoms of "flu"- I fed him pills. 1919. Cut out white serge coat for Hilda from old dress of mine and washed it. Lining is of flowered wool Helena gave me. Canned 5 1/2 qts. pumpkin. 1920. Cooking for 6- with Hilda- keeps me busy. I just did regular work- separator, lamps, dishes, and floor to clean, baked fruit cookies, took nap- and that's about as far as I got. Rained all P.M. and Mr. Whitney went home early. Dressed my first rabbit. 19
