November 18 1917. Went to church, twice. Cogswell's came after dinner, and we went for a walk west. Found a little wintergreen. Gordon Nayes and Mabel Nygard were here quite a while. Wrote to the folks. 1918. Canned 4 qts. rhubarb-citron-lemon conserve, baked mince pies. Men finished putting on storm windows. Wrote to Helena. Trimmed little dimity dress with tucks and lace insertion. Went to office in evening with Hans, who is working on his annual report. 1919. Baked white and graham bread, cooked a citron, canning 1 qt. preserves, and a pt. each of wild gooseberry and rhubarb combination with it. Positively my last canning this year. Did some pressing. Martin Swedling and his sister, Ruth, here for supper. Amanda over in eve. 1920. Baked graham and white bread and pumpkin pies, dressed a chicken; napped and sewed and mended and crocheted; - a busy day. Warm and sunny. Hans got his new engine and saw rig and sawed a little firewood. 19
