Saving...
November 22 1917 Daisy has calf - lively little fellow, nearly white. Ironed; baked oatmeal bread and doughnuts. Wrote to Hazel Scott and Sis. Went to town and to Cogswell's, where she and I planned entertainment for our party. Alone in evening again. Hans out Dunton's school - good crowd. 1918. I'm a widow - Hans at Irene. I swept first snowfall from walks before breakfast. Snowed some more during day. I wrote to mamma - their barrel of Jonathans came yesterday. Started to sort & wrap Ben Davis. Called on Mrs. Bryant. Walked to town twice for mail. Sewed and crocheted. 1919. Baked three pumpkin pies and cake, served on Amanda's red wool dress and trimmed blue hat for her. Crocheted a little on Hilda's gertrude. August and Beth Huetson here in evening. Got circle letters. Wrote to Sis, and cards to mamma and Herman. 1920. Baked white and graham bread, dressed a rabbit. My stove smoked so I had a hard time. Sewed a little on Hilda's coat and crocheted on h'dk'f. She was about sick with a cold in evening, & was feverish. Wrote Quill circle letter. 19
