November 27 1917. Went to town in A.M. to buy milk pans. Hemstitched an hour of more. Made apple jelly. Made several pillowcases at Red Cross. Miss Mills of Minneapolis talked of Y.W.C.A. war fund. At Cogswell's in eve, Mrs. and I beat men all 3 games. 1918. Dressed the big rooster, baked white and rye bread, washed 5 storm sash for south side of house, mended 4 worn pairs hose; pressed 4 prs. trousers. Crocheted in evening. Letter from Hans' mother, who also sent us a big goose we got this P.M! 1919. August + Roy here for breakfast. Still snowing in morning. Quit, then we decided to accept Keck's invitation for Thanksgiving dinner. Helen Horsfall went with us. Drove the 28 mi. in 1 3/4 hr. Roads rough part way. Got home at 7:30, snowing all way home. 1920. A busy Saturday- I did most of ironing, baked bread, mopped linoleums. 4 for dinner, as usual. Hans' father helping with cement work. Letter from mamma. 19
