MEMORANDA 1917. Three months of having the boarders was really enough, and I'll have time for other things. Their board a little more than paid our total food bill, including our garden stuff, etc. 1918. I've taken boarders on again! at their own request. Sugar allowance increased from 2 lb. per person per month in summer, to 3# in Nov. and 4# in December. 1919. Goodby, Dakota - nearly. Packing up to get ready to go takes longer, with baby to care for, than I had expected. 1920. Iowa farming sure keeps us busy. Hans worked all month on dairy shed, Harry at last of corn husking, and I, cooking, cleaning, + laundry, with very little time for needed sewing. 19
