Saving...
December 4 1917. Did a huge two weeks' washing, and baked oatmeal and rye raisin bread. At Red Cross Mrs. Hansell helped me with my knitting. I got some milk customers—Mrs. Dennis and Mrs. Nims, besides the bachelor, Swan Erickson. 1918. Cold better, but am weak yet. Baked wheat bread and bread sponge cake. Finished apron. Went to Tjaden's and to town. Fine day. Mr. Scarbro of Brookings out with Hans. They had late supper here and talked till late. Supt. Bjornson again wanted me to teach as substitute in H.S. Sent birthday card to Reno. 1919. Finally finished packing and the floor-cleaning process. Having taken our range down, we went to Lawton's (hotel) for dinner and supper. Stewarts' kept Hilda while we were at dinner. We went to Crawfords' to see Amanda then to Ellefson's for the night. 1920. Rained an inch over night. Dark cloudy day. I baked pumpkin pies and cookies, mopped, finished Hilda's plaid dress except cuffs. 19
