Saving...
December 9 1917. Dorothy Notes called in morning for jokes for her soldier's Christmas book. Wrote to Sis and to Hazel Scott. Read. A cold day. 1918. Rain kept up most of day. I sorted Jonathan apples and canned 2 qts. Spent P.M. in office again. Wrote to Sis and birthday card to "Mac". Got what is probably last gallon of milk from Denison's. 1919. A regular blizzardy day kept Victor busy keeping the "womenfolks" warm. Acute coal shortage due to coal strike, seems near an end. Wrote letters to Helen and Sis. 1920. Hans not well and in house most of day. Mr. and Mrs. Whitney here from 10 to nearly five. I baked bread and pumpkin pie, washed curtains in hired man's room. Mrs. W. and I covered up rose bushes for winter. 19
