DECEMBER 18 1917. Baked oatmeal bread and rolls, cut up Sambo's head and we made sausage. I ironed some, made most of two neckties and started two rose-flowered big collars. Crocheted. 1918. Baked chocolate drop cakes. Mabel Gunderson of Centerville here with Margaret for dinner. Very mild dark day; spit a little snow. Wrote to Olga and her mother, and to Mildred Savage. Walked to town on sloppy streets. Embroidered. Got package of baby flannel, etc. from Lamson Bros. Helped Hans with rope knot exhibit. 1919. Wrote card to Amanda. Washed for Hilda, let down sleeves on a couple dresses for her, made a pair of red moccasins for Marie Riley. George not here for dinner. He brought over his furniture. Letters from Hans and Mrs. Cogswell. and white kid shoes for Hilda. Wrote to Hans. Folks got home 1920. Baked 3 pumpkin pies, cleaned up living rooms, swept Harry's room, finished handkerchief and started another, with white edge. Sent off first Christmas cards, to Hazel, Bess, + Aunt Jennie. 19
