JANUARY 16 1936. Collected Mrs. Woodhouse's tomato soup, and Edna Maxwell. We served soup to about 50 pupils. Got grist at mill, then called on Pauline Waechter. 1937. Got 7. We washed, I baked Hans' birthday cake. After dinner Signe, K & I drove over ice to Waechter's for 4H mtg. I dem. biscuits. Got stuck on ice coming home. Sewed all eve. 1938. 16 in our S.S. class. Read in DeKruif's "Microbe Hunters" all P.M. Got more throat medicine. Thawed a little. My amaryllis blooming for 1st time -- 2 blossoms. 19 After I ironed an hr. my heart felt bum, so slept an hour from 9 to 10. Baked bread. Missed Home Ec. Club in P.M. Started making muslin luncheon cloth, embroidering Millefleur, in several colors. Wrote Hans. Sunny day. 19
