March 24 1936. Ironed, baked bread & ginger cake. Typed parts for Easter program. Gave report of hot lunch project at P.T.A. Frank in 6" grade playlet. 1937. High wind & snow. extremely disagreeable. Completed 21st block of Epworth quilt. Began reading "The Great Impersonation" by Oppenheim. 1938. Home all day. Elsie helped me do washing. Windy. We left at 5 & looked in vain around Lake Monona for a house to rent. Took Grace & Elsie to Ames 80th birthday dinner at Kennedy Manor. 30 there. K stayed with Ruth K. 72° 1939. Girls did ironing. I did more mending, dusted buffet. Read in "Strenuous Americans" by Dibble from State historical library. 19
