May 6 Much warmer 19 Drove to church twice in AM & twice in P.M. My hobby show brought many exhibits & visitors. Mrs. Breneman had charge of chicken supper, I of exhibits & program. Sold my cheese, Pauline's ruffles, candy, etc. Cleared $22. + 19 Cut out blue rayon satin dresses for banquet dresses for Hilda & Signe and seamed up Signe's. First rhubarb sauce. 19 Sunny, windy. Cleaned my room, polished my old desk, painted both sets of steps. (Mr. Miller gave everything else 2 coats). Darned, to mailbox twice, planted kohlrabi & another row of potatoes. Frank home from week at Waubeesa school, when girls came. We went to Trousdale Minstrel Show. 19 Hot & windy. Washed some windows & put on a few screens. Baked cake Hans home from Dakota, Minn, & Buckhorn at 4:30. Brought me blue polymoniums, also roots from his mother. Ride in eve. Had first asparagus. 19
