May 23 1936. Washed blankets, baked bread, made Frank pajamas, called on Pauline. Heavy rain in P.M. Set out pansy plants. Hans took Frank to his folks for a week or two, but Frank prefers to work for Bill on the farm. 1937. Fine sunny day. Went to church twice! 7 in my S.S. class. Baccalaureate sermon in eve. 6 in Hilda's class. At Pauline's in P.M. Wrote Hans. Lilacs lovely. 1938. Very windy. Had headache. Baked bread and put most of new hem in Hilda's blue formal dress. Girls got forget-me-nots of Hadley's which we set out. Letter from Elsie. Mrs. Ellestadt and Miss Crombie spent evening here. 1939. Awake from 1:30 to 4 A.M. Did various odd jobs. Don Zentner took me to Comm. church at 1:30. Was the book agent in the play "Mrs. Stubbins' Book Agent"--Mrs. Kelly, May Sawle, Doris MacLean, & Ruth Kline. Put on pillow case comm. with Mrs. Rabe. Mrs. Sell brought me home. Wrote Maude Wildman, Emily H. 19
