Many iris & spirea in bloom May 28 19 Finished in Decorah, ate roadside lunch after Frankville. Tested in Castalia, Ossian (saw Helen Maxwell). At Monona stopped at Violet Braessel's & went to Buttermaker's Banquet. Sat next to Ray Anderson. 19 Children had no school till 11—so helped me wash. Warmer, sunny. Short nap, then went to Dyersville for 1 1/2 hrs in dental chair. Signe & Allen girls went with me. Tired. To bed early. 19 More rain in night. Hilda, Signe, & I to Madison in A.M.—Got white suit & shoes for Signe commencement, curtains for dining room, etc. Overcast skirt seams. 19 Taught S.S. class. 4 Univ students had church services. Bob [Lewcke?] here in P.M. also "happy" Mener. All to Baccalaureate in eve in gym, preached by Rev. Beckman, Lutheran. 19
