June 17 Did Waukon Jct., Harpers' Ferry—bot [Indian?] basket of two Winnebago [Indians?]; dinner at Lansing; After hunting, found English Bench [illegible] & stayed at Chestnut Wood & Stumps cabin at Decorah. Mended. Pulled weeds. Children busy hoeing. Spent much energy trying to [sell?] alfalfa crop. Wrote Hans. 9 Frank, K, & I saw Signe graduate (5th) in high 15 class of 338 at East High. Nice day but [illegible] Rev. and Mrs. Barber made first call here— Annual Trousdale church nite & pot luck supper—Hilda & I put on official board. 9 Coldpacked 6 qt. berries & K worked at them all day, picking 30 qt. & preserving. I varnished floor of sun room & edge from room. Helped with strawberry & ice cream social in Civic park, but very cold & windy. Isaacson's here, also Mr. & Mrs. Montgomery for berries. 9
