JUNE 26 1936. 11 of us had Garden Club breakfast at Eagle Point Park, cooking bacon, eggs, coffee. Viewed new WPA projects. Did some mending in P.M. Very hot & windy & dry. 1937. Signe washed, Hilda cleaned front room, K mowed yard, I baked bread and cake. Headache. Hilda got ft. per set from Hermosa. Amanda phoned. Read most of Cornelia Parker's "An American Idyll" 1938. All of Dora's & we drove to West Liberty, arr. Elmenhurst at 11. Dora rode with us. Mr and Mrs Geo Leffler at George's. Ate dinner at Leslie's, supper at George's. Dora & I went to Albert Ruess' to see Grange float for Centennial, & to Byron Barnes' in W.L where Rae & Bessie were at church in eve. Colonial dresses and candles. 1939. Hans took Sig back, but we got her in P.M.—all thru & glad to get away. Miss A. & I stemmed gooseberries, canned 3 pts. Went thru [Hort?] and Babcock gardens. Flowers not at best. K got necklace from Olga 19
