JUNE 28 1936. Baked lemon pies, roasted 7# beef in Wear Ever roaster on kerosene burner. George's were all here for first time, also Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dyas. Latter took Frank and Hilda back to Buckhorn for the week. 1937. Hilda cleaned hall, Signe ironed. I sewed together back of my Epworth quilt, & laid it all out on front room rug. Helped Frank clean his room. Letters to George, Hans. 1938. Left Leslie's at 8, called on Mrs. Wherry, Velma; ate dinner at Hans' folks, then when Hans came from farm, we went to Epworth. Called on Mrs Randall at Grandma Maxwell's, Warton's, & Pauline's. Rita came home with us. Called on Herbert Harrison in Dubuque Home at 8. 1939. Very tired. Canned 1 qt gooseberry juice, made jelly & conserve. Took nap. Card, letter, and telegram from Hans! Wrote him and Hilda. Mended. K. got owl book ends from Helene. 19
