July 9 19 Went to Dubuque with Hans. After an hr. in library, I went to Eagle Point park for picnic dinner with him. Got a new oven. Too hot in city for me. 19 K & I took 2 trailer loads of junk to dump on Kidder road. Took car to have radiator, etc. repaired and got it at 6. Made currant-apple crisp. Quilted all P.M. Very hot. Nation-wide heat wave. 19 Out at 5:30 to pick raspberries & first string beans, Hilda and Signe helped shell peas and canned my record amt. of peas 13 qt. Tired. Did my weekly shopping at Cornwell's. 19 Baked peanut cookies, Signe came to church too, but we took her back to Haley's for dinner, Lucille here for dinner & supper. Kids saw "Alex Graham Bell" then we all went to see pictures at Comm. church in eve. [I?] took girls back along lake shore. 19
