July 12 1936. So hot I felt dizzy in sun & would not walk to S.S. so stayed home all day. Hans had my car at farm. Slept out all night, on mattress. 1937. Quite a rain in night. Signe, Hans & I to Buckhorn by noon. Took Pauline to Dubuque. Tried to sell farm to Amanda. At farm, where it rained. At Irm Aux at Delta [illegible] Called on Mrs. Pendray. 1938. Slept till 6, so had to pick berries in the heat, then Signe and I finished washing by 11, then came a dash of rain. Made currant-raspberry jelly, 2 qt. juice & 7 pt jam. Took Frank to his S.S. class picnic then I went on picnic with E.L. Kirkpatricks in [illegible] [Park?]. 19 Very hot. Canned 3 1/2 qt. blackcaps, took red berries K. picked in to [Hinz?] for Hallocks. We did big ironing in P.M.—unusual. Hemmed last drape. Mr. & Mrs. Joe Adler here a little while in eve. 19
