JULY 17 19 Feel too dull to do much after [our?] hot trip, and so hot we don't eat much, so rested. 19 Ironed for Helen. Nap in P.M. Picture-taking of Hi Jinks a major morning activity. In eve at dinner and bridge party with Helen and Fred. Hans didn't have party clothes along. 19 Baked an apple pie. Picked berries. Rev. Barber came for us at 9 and he and Miss Shaw brought us home and stayed for dinner till 3:30. Hilda came home about 7. I had headache in eve. 19 Woke with a terrific headache, then slept till 8! Began crocheted rug of purple and cream candlewicking for Signe. Canned 4 qt. berries. Rained in night, first for 3 weeks. Frank had furnace fire! 19
