JULY 30 1936 Eileen went to Bankston to visit, so no demonstration for two days. Cut out my blue dotted Swiss dress and sewed on it. Hans home in eve. 1937 Letters from Olga's and May Dyas that they cannot come Sunday. We cleaned upstairs. I cut and made most of a print muslin dress. Card from Hans. 1938. Rained more than a half inch. Canned 3-1/2 qt. cherries. Signe home again and baked cake and pie. I worked outside most of P.M. - berries, put coleus, etc. in flower box, etc. 1939. Made salad and ice cream - 3 in my class, 40 at S.S. Bob here in P.M., also Parman's. Read in "Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck. Took Signe to Haley's. Nice and Cool. 19
