AUGUST 2 19 Hot enuf, church again - and S.S. at 11! Girls had their dem. at 1:30. I got Pauline in state car for it. 19 Got 7 letter. Signe washed, I baked bread, and 2 blueberry pies (9-10 P.M.). Ella Burrell here for supper & showed us Mexico pictures. Jennie and Mildred Maxwell here in eve. 19 Did my share of ironing and quite a lot of mending. Clipped grass around rock garden. Signe back at work. Finished "We Too are the People". 19 Washed, but it rained till 11! (Means no flower watering). Letter and card from Hans. Shortened my new pink lace dress and lengthened rayon one which shrank. Wrote Elsie and Jennie Maxwell. 19
